Locum OBGYN - Rural Hospital, 24-hr Call, Cesareans & Deliveries (Cadillac, MI)

Location: Cadillac, Michigan - hospital-based, rural practice

Position type: Locum tenens physician; inpatient OBGYN coverage

Schedule

• Coverage: ~3-6 days/month
• Shift: 24-hour call (typically 7:00 AM-7:00 AM)
• Call ratio: 1:5
• Weekend coverage: required
• Call method: beeper/phone
• Days vary based on needs

Clinical responsibilities

• Manage routine vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections
• Evaluate and treat obstetric emergencies
• Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care and procedures within OBGYN scope
• Respond to call needs and provide timely patient evaluations
• Practice independently in a rural hospital setting

Practice details

• Setting: 100% inpatient/hospital-based
• Facility designations: Trauma Level I and Level II
• Patient population: Adults
• Average volume: 2-5 patients/day (varies by census and acuity)
• EMR: Oracle

Minimum requirements

• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active Michigan medical license at time of submission (must already be licensed)
• Current DEA registration
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Demonstrated experience with routine deliveries, Cesarean sections, and obstetric emergencies
• Ability to practice independently in a rural hospital setting
