Locum Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon - Level II Trauma Center, San Jose, CA (Per Diem)

Join a busy Level II Trauma Center in San Jose, CA, as a locum orthopedic trauma surgeon and step into a high-performing program that manages roughly 600 orthopedic trauma cases each year. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team caring for a diverse, high-acuity patient population across inpatient surgery and outpatient follow-up. Compensation is $4,500 per 24-hour shift.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide surgical care for acute orthopedic trauma patients, including operative interventions and postop management.
• Perform consultations for orthopedic trauma in the hospital and coordinate inpatient rounding.
• Manage outpatient trauma follow-up clinics.
• Collaborate closely with trauma, emergency medicine, and other surgical teams to deliver coordinated care.
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts and program development.

Who we’re looking for

• MD or DO with completion of an Orthopedic Surgery residency.
• Fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Trauma (required).
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
