General Surgery Physician - Trauma/Acute Care (26-Week Fly-In Schedule)

Location: Paducah, Kentucky

Position type: Full-time (26 weeks per year)

Compensation: $435,000 annual

Schedule:

• Preferred block schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (longer or shorter blocks may be considered)
• Total clinical weeks: 26 per year

Clinical responsibilities:

• Provide surgical consultation and operative management for trauma and acute care surgical patients
• Participate in building and growing a Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (Trauma/ACS) program alongside an initial team of two surgeons
• Independently manage acute and trauma surgical cases in the ED, ICU and OR
• Expected daily consults: ~1-2
• Expected operative volume: ~1 operation per day
• Projected annual consults: ~492 (volume expected to increase)
• Projected annual operations: ~359 (volume expected to increase)
• ED annual volume: ~39,680 visits
• No APP support initially

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or a related surgical specialty
• Demonstrated experience managing acute care and trauma surgical patients
• Ability to provide independent surgical consultation and operative care
• Comfortable working in a developing program and contributing to program growth
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Willingness to work a flexible block schedule
