General Surgeon - Trauma/Acute Care (26-Week Block Schedule)

Full-time General Surgery opportunity in Paducah, KY supporting a developing Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) program. 26-week annual clinical schedule enables extended time off while maintaining full-time compensation.

Compensation & Schedule

• Salary: $435,000 annually
• Clinical weeks: 26 per year
• Preferred block schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (longer or shorter blocks may be considered)
• No APP support initially

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide surgical consultation and operative management for trauma and acute care patients
• Independently manage acute and trauma surgical patients
• Collaborate with an initial team of two surgeons to establish and grow the Trauma/ACS program

Clinical Volume (current / projected)

• ED annual volume: ~39,680 visits
• Annual consults: ~492 (projected to increase)
• Annual operations: ~359 (projected to increase)
• Typical daily consults: ~1-2
• Typical average operations: ~1 per day

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or related surgical specialty
• Experience managing acute care and trauma surgical patients
• Comfortable providing independent surgical consultation and operative care
• Able to work effectively in a developing program and participate in a flexible block schedule
• Strong clinical and communication skills
