Primary Care Medical Director (70% Clinician) — Lead Primary Care in Northampton/Amherst, MA (up to $275K)

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on physician to provide clinical leadership across our primary care practices in Northampton and Amherst, MA. In this role you’ll balance patient care (about 70% clinical) with administrative leadership (about 30%), partnering with clinicians and staff to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while improving operations and outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Set and champion clinical standards, quality, and patient safety across sites.
• Mentor, coach, and evaluate primary care providers; support ongoing professional development.
• Lead performance improvement projects and drive practice transformation efforts.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee risk management activities.
• Optimize care delivery through workflow redesign, staffing models, and team-based care.
• Advance population health and value-based care programs in coordination with payers.
• Use the EHR and clinical data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and improve efficiency.
• Improve the patient experience and lead service recovery when issues arise.

What we’re looking for

• MD or DO with an active Massachusetts medical license
• Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• At least 5 years of outpatient primary care experience
• Proven clinical leadership experience, ideally as a Medical Director or lead physician
• Strong communication and team-building skills
• Experience with population health, payer programs, or practice transformation
• Training or experience in leadership, quality improvement, or informatics is a plus
