Locum Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Phoenix & Tucson, AZ

Physician-led organization seeks a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon for locum coverage in Arizona. The role supports a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center and integrates with an experienced, collaborative orthopedic trauma team.

Locations

• Phoenix and Tucson, AZ

Schedule

• 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts/year (flexible scheduling options)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day rotations and built-in recovery time between rotations
• Mix of OR, inpatient, and clinic duties
• Work alongside an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon
• Dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical Responsibilities

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Trauma call coverage at a high-volume trauma center
• Management of complex fracture care, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaboration with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance of surgical cases, inpatient care, and outpatient follow-up
• Accurate and timely documentation of clinical care

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
