Locum Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Tucson, AZ

Join a physician-led team in Tucson, AZ, providing locum tenens coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. This role supports an established orthopedic trauma program and allows you to focus on patient care within a collaborative environment supported by strong clinical infrastructure.

Assignment details

• 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts per year (flexible scheduling available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day rotations and built-in recovery time between assignments
• Mixed responsibilities: operative cases, inpatient care, and follow-up clinic
• Team-based coverage modeled with dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery support
• Work alongside an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in high-volume trauma call coverage
• Manage complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical caseload with inpatient management and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license, or willingness to obtain one
