Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Phoenix, AZ

Provide locums coverage as a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon for a physician-led organization in Phoenix, AZ. Support a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center within a team-focused, well-resourced clinical environment.

Assignment details

• Schedule: 24-hour shifts, ~183 shifts annually (flexible scheduling available)
• Shift structure: blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery time between rotations
• Clinical mix: operating room, inpatient care, and follow-up clinic
• Teaming: work alongside an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon within a dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Trauma call coverage at a high-volume trauma center
• Management of complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Coordination with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance of surgical cases, inpatient management, and outpatient follow-up
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Preferred: strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
