Travel RN - Orthopedics (Bone & Joints) Nights — Herrin, IL (Contract)

Join a busy orthopedic team in Herrin, IL as a contract RN working nights. This is a travel opportunity starting ASAP, offering $1,930 per 36-hour week.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide hands-on nursing care for orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-operative support.
• Complete musculoskeletal assessments and closely monitor patient recovery.
• Manage postoperative care for joint and bone surgeries—wound checks, casts, traction, and incision monitoring.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and ordered treatments safely and timely.
• Help patients with mobility, rehabilitation activities, and fall-prevention strategies.
• Work closely with surgeons, physicians, and therapy teams to coordinate care and plan discharge.
• Teach patients and families about recovery expectations and home-care instructions.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and progress in the EMR.

What we’re looking for

• Active RN license and graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS required; ACLS is preferred.
• Previous orthopedic or surgical nursing experience is a plus.
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable working night shifts in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
