Assignment: Contract/Travel — 13 weeks, ASAP start
Schedule: Sun, Fri, Sat | 06:00 AM–06:30 PM
Rate: Travel: $1,318/36 hours

Requirements

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of practice
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, vital signs monitoring.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol.
  • Manage wounds: evaluate, cleanse, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, medications, and clinical changes.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and self-care.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line insertion and function.
  • Provide urinary catheter care including insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect and prepare patient specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, pain management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies per facility protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in compliance with regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Complete continuing education and training to maintain current nursing practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
