Primary Care Medical Director (Physician) — Amherst/Northampton, MA (70% Clinical, 30% Leadership)

Join our team to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight across primary care practices in Northampton and Amherst, MA. You will split time between active patient care (≈70%) and administrative leadership (≈30%), ensuring safe, patient-centered, high-quality care while supporting providers, optimizing practice operations, and advancing continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

• Set and monitor clinical standards, quality, and patient safety initiatives
• Mentor, evaluate, and support provider performance and professional development
• Ensure regulatory compliance and manage risk
• Improve workflows, staffing models, and care delivery efficiency
• Lead population health, value-based care, and payer program initiatives
• Leverage EHRs and data analytics to drive outcomes and operational improvements
• Enhance patient experience and oversee service recovery processes

Compensation & benefits:

• Salary range: $225,000–$275,000 (dependent on experience)

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with an active Massachusetts medical license
• Board certified/eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
• Minimum 5 years of outpatient primary care experience
• Demonstrated clinical leadership, strong communication, and collaborative skills
• Prior Medical Director or lead physician experience preferred
• Experience with population health, payer programs, or practice transformation
• Training in leadership, quality improvement, or informatics is a plus
