Required qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
• Prior experience in correctional, clinical, or community mental health settings preferred.
• Demonstrated crisis intervention and suicide/risk-assessment skills.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a secure correctional environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Core responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments, screenings, and diagnostic evaluations for inmates.
• Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based interventions.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans.
• Respond to mental health crises, perform suicide risk assessments, and provide crisis stabilization.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (medical, security, psychiatry) and participate in treatment meetings.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation per Wisconsin DOC standards.
• Contribute to case discussions and mental health program development.
• Deliver education on coping strategies, behavior management, and rehabilitation.
• Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and facility safety protocols.
