Locum Tenens Neonatologist — Level III NICU, Lansing MI

Join a respected healthcare system in Lansing, Michigan to provide locums coverage in a busy Level III NICU and Special Care Nursery. You’ll work in a collaborative neonatal care environment with strong clinical resources, dedicated NICU support staff, and a predictable schedule made up of daytime shifts plus overnight home call.

What the role looks like

• Practice setting: Level III NICU and Special Care Nursery
• Shift structure:
  • Day shifts: 10-hour shifts
  • Night coverage: 14-hour home call
  • Weekend coverage required
  • Call ratio: 1:4; physicians must be able to arrive onsite within 30 minutes when called in
• EMR: EPIC

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care in a Level III NICU and attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections
• Manage critically ill neonates who require advanced respiratory support, including BiPAP/CPAP, oscillator ventilation, and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
• Perform neonatal procedures such as chest tube placement, central and arterial line insertion, PA catheter insertion, UVC/UAC placement, and PICC placement
• Participate in neonatal resuscitation and emergency management
• Collaborate with and potentially supervise Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs)
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC

Qualifications

• MD or DO required
• Fellowship-trained in Neonatology and board certified in Neonatology
• Active Michigan medical license required
• Current NALS certification required
