Physician Clinical Lead – Family Medicine (Lead Primary Care Physician)

Join a growing healthcare team in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Physician Clinical Lead who balances active patient care with meaningful physician leadership. In this role you’ll spend about 70–80% of your time seeing patients and the rest mentoring providers, supporting clinical operations, and helping shape care delivery across ambulatory sites. It’s a chance to stay clinically engaged while influencing quality, workflows, and provider development.

What you’ll do

• Provide high-quality primary care as an active clinician (majority clinical time).
• Mentor, coach, and support providers — including onboarding and ongoing education for NPs and PAs.
• Partner with Practice Managers and operations teams across multiple sites to improve workflows, provider readiness, and ambulatory compliance.
• Lead quality improvement efforts, clinical documentation review, protocol development, and performance reporting.
• Serve as a clinical resource for scope-of-practice questions, clinical protocols, and conflict resolution.

What we’re looking for

• Current, unrestricted MD or DO license in Georgia and DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine preferred (or a related primary care specialty)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, or a similar ambulatory setting
• Prior experience in a physician leadership role (Clinical Lead, Associate Medical Director, or similar)
• Strong skills in leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication, and conflict resolution
• Experience with provider onboarding, education, and peer mentoring
• Familiarity with ambulatory clinical protocols, scope-of-practice requirements, and compliance
• Proficiency with EHR systems, documentation practices, and quality/performance reporting
• Experience collaborating with Practice Managers in a multi-site ambulatory environment
