Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Bradenton, FL (FSED & Main Hospital)

We are seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for locum tenens coverage at the main hospital and a newly opened Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) in Bradenton, Florida (opened Summer 2024). This is an opportunity to practice in state-of-the-art facilities delivering high-quality emergency care to Manatee County and surrounding communities. Locum providers must be EM-trained and EM-boarded (or board-eligible) and hold ATLS certification as a minimum, as they will work alongside Emergency Medicine residents at the main hospital.

Position details

• Start: Summer 2024 (specific date to be confirmed). Allow approximately 2 months for credentialing.
• Commitment: Minimum 4–6 shifts per month.
• Shift structure: 24-hour physician coverage daily. Flexible scheduling with both day and night shifts available.

Facility highlights

• 12 exam rooms equipped for full emergency services.
• Expected volume: >8,000 patient visits annually.
• EMR: Meditech P-doc with M-Modal dictation.
• Onsite advanced imaging: CT, ultrasound, radiology services.
• Patients requiring admission are transported seamlessly to the main hospital for inpatient care.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Active Florida medical license.
• DEA registration.
• Minimum commitment of 4–6 shifts per month.
• ATLS certification required.
• Must be EM trained/boarded.
