Locum EM Physician — Englewood FL, Flexible Shifts, 20k Visits, Advanced Imaging & 24/7 Coverage

A healthcare facility in Englewood, FL is seeking a locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician to provide flexible coverage across day, night, and weekend 12-hour shifts.

Location and Setting

• Englewood, FL (Gulf Coast)
• Emergency Department volume: ~20,000 visits/year
• 24-hour physician coverage; shifts are 12 hours

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute emergency conditions
• Manage sepsis, stroke alerts, and other critical cases in collaboration with ED team
• Order and interpret imaging and laboratory studies to guide care
• Provide timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility protocols
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support services to ensure patient safety and continuity of care

Facility Resources

• 24/7 phlebotomy support during surges and critical cases
• On-site advanced imaging: MRI, CT, X‑ray, ultrasound

Qualifications

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with ≥2 years recent Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Florida medical license and DEA registration
• ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced ED environment
