Locums Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon - Phoenix High-Acuity Center, Above-Market Pay & Full Travel Covered

Phoenix, AZ - Locum, fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon needed to cover a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center within a physician-led organization. The team provides strong clinical infrastructure so surgeons can focus on patient care in a collaborative, well-supported environment.

Assignment details

• 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts/year (flexible scheduling available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery time between rotations
• Clinical mix: OR, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic
• Work alongside an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon within a dedicated orthopedic trauma/acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Trauma call coverage at a high-volume trauma center
• Management of complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Coordination with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical caseload with inpatient care and outpatient follow-up
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Prior experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
