Locums Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon - 26-Week Schedule, Above-Market Pay, Paducah KY

Overview
Seeking a locum Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) physician to join a developing surgical program. This full-time locums role has a 26-weeks-per-year commitment designed for work-life balance while providing comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services alongside an initial team of two surgeons.

Schedule

• Annual commitment: 26 weeks per year
• Preferred block schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (longer or shorter blocks may be considered)
• Flexible block scheduling required

Clinical Duties

• Provide surgical consultation and operative management for trauma and acute care patients
• Independently manage acute care and trauma surgical patients
• Collaborate with surgical colleagues to establish and grow the program

Typical Daily/Annual Volume

• ED annual volume: ~39,680 visits
• Average daily consults: 1-2
• Average operations: ~1 per day
• Projected annual consults: ~492 (expected to increase)
• Projected annual operations: ~359 (expected to increase)
• Initial APP support: none

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or a related surgical specialty
• Experience managing acute care and trauma surgical patients
• Comfortable providing independent consultations and operative care
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a developing program

Compensation & Benefits

• Above-market hourly rate per 24-hour shift
