Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon - $435K, 26-Week Schedule, Build a Growing ACS Program (Paducah, KY)

We’re recruiting a Trauma/Acute Care Surgery physician to join a growing surgical program in Paducah, Kentucky. This full-time role offers a unique 26-weeks-per-year schedule that delivers an excellent work-life balance while letting you provide comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services.

What you’ll find here

• Employment: Full-time with a competitive annual salary of $435,000.
• Schedule: 26 weeks per year, with a preferred block schedule of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (longer or shorter blocks can be considered).
• Clinical volume: Approximately 1-2 consults per day and about 1 operation per day on average.
• Annual volumes: ED sees about 39,680 visits; projected consults ~492/year and projected operations ~359/year, with volumes expected to grow.
• Support: No APP support initially - an opportunity to shape team development.

The role
You’ll join an initial team of two surgeons and play a key role in establishing and expanding a Trauma/ACS program. Your primary responsibilities will include surgical consultation and operative management of trauma and acute care patients, working independently when needed and collaborating to build systems and processes as the program grows. The 26-week schedule provides substantial flexibility - allowing you extended time away from the hospital while maintaining full-time compensation.

Who we’re looking for

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or a related surgical specialty.
• Experience managing acute care and trauma surgical patients.
• Comfortable providing independent surgical consultations and operative care.
• Able to work effectively in a developing program and contribute to its growth.
• Strong clinical judgment and clear communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in a flexible block schedule.
