Locums Hospital Medicine Physician (Family Practice) - Derry, NH (Flexible Service Shifts)

We are seeking a locum hospital medicine physician to provide ongoing inpatient coverage in Derry, New Hampshire. This role offers flexible, service-based scheduling with additional surge coverage during high-volume periods.

Position highlights

• Ongoing engagement with flexible start/end dates
• Multiple service options:
  • Service A: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Service B: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
  • Service C: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
• During high patient volume, all services convert to 12-hour shifts
• Weekend coverage: two 12-hour services with surge support as needed
• No fixed on-call rotation

Call structure

• Service C: on call 7:00 AM-11:00 AM
• Service B: on call 11:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Service A: on call 3:00 PM-7:00 PM
• Once your assigned on-call period ends, you are not expected to be called back or return after your shift

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient hospital medicine care
• Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients; perform rounds and develop treatment plans
• Manage admissions, discharges, and cross-coverage as assigned
• Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team
• Respond to urgent patient needs during assigned coverage
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active New Hampshire medical license
• Hospital medicine experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible shifts and participate in service-based coverage
