Lead Physician - Family Medicine Clinical Lead (Primary Care)

Join our growing healthcare team in Atlanta as a Physician Clinical Lead where you’ll balance hands-on patient care with meaningful physician leadership. This role lets you stay clinically active (about 70-80% of your time) while also mentoring providers, shaping clinical practice, and partnering on operations across ambulatory sites.

What you’ll do

• Provide high-quality primary care to your patient panel while maintaining excellent clinical standards.
• Serve as a leader and mentor to other providers - supporting onboarding, professional development, and clinical coaching.
• Collaborate with practice managers and operations teams to implement workflows, quality initiatives, and performance improvement projects.
• Help develop and refine clinical protocols, documentation standards, and scope-of-practice guidance.
• Participate in provider readiness, compliance activities, and performance reporting.

What we’re looking for

• MD or DO with a current, unrestricted Georgia medical license and active DEA registration.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (preferred) or a related primary care specialty.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, or another ambulatory setting.
• Prior experience in a physician leadership role (Clinical Lead, Associate Medical Director, or similar).
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and communication skills, with proven ability to support providers and resolve conflicts constructively.
• Experience with provider onboarding, education, and peer mentoring.
• Familiarity with ambulatory clinical protocols, scope-of-practice rules, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency using EHR systems, clinical documentation, and quality/performance reporting tools.
• Background in quality improvement, clinical documentation review, and developing or implementing protocols.
• Experience mentoring Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants and collaborating across multi-site ambulatory environments.
