Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon - High-Acuity Arizona Trauma Centers, Competitive Pay

A physician-led organization in Arizona is seeking a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon to provide locum coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. The group supports high-performing surgical teams with robust clinical infrastructure, allowing surgeons to focus on patient care within a collaborative, well-supported environment alongside an experienced orthopedic trauma team.

Locations

• Phoenix, Goodyear, Scottsdale, and Tucson, AZ

Assignment Details

• 24-hour shifts with blocked scheduling; typical 7-day stretches (scheduling flexibility available)
• Built-in recovery time between rotations
• Mixed responsibilities: OR cases, inpatient care, and follow-up clinic
• Shared coverage model: work alongside an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon and acute care surgery teams

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call at a high-volume trauma center
• Manage complex fracture care, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Coordinate care with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance operative caseload with inpatient management and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Demonstrated experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Advanced expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license preferred or willingness to obtain
