Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon - Tucson, AZ

Join a physician-led team in Tucson, AZ, providing locums coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. You’ll work in a well-supported environment designed to let surgeons focus on patient care - supported by strong clinical infrastructure and a collaborative orthopedic trauma team.

What the role looks like

• 24-hour shifts, roughly 183 shifts per year, with flexible scheduling options
• Blocked scheduling in 7-day stretches with built-in recovery time between rotations
• A mix of OR cases, inpatient care, and follow-up clinic responsibilities
• Shared coverage model - you’ll work alongside another orthopedic trauma surgeon
• Opportunity to manage complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries, at a high-volume trauma center

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative management for orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call coverage and collaborate closely with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance acute surgical cases with inpatient management and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience managing high-acuity trauma is required; expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture care highly preferred
• Active Arizona medical license, or willingness to obtain one
