We’re looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join a 13-week contract in Saint Johnsbury, VT, starting ASAP. This is a night shift travel assignment (07:00 PM–07:00 AM) with a 40-hour weekly rate of $1,580.

Required credentials

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under RN/physician direction, focusing on patient safety, comfort, and accurate documentation. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Conducting patient assessments (vitals, focused physical checks, history and medication reviews) and contributing to individualized care plans
  • Administering medications and treatments safely and following protocols
  • Managing wound care—cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for infection or complications
  • Inserting, monitoring, and maintaining IVs and urinary catheters as needed
  • Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Recording patient status, care provided, and response to treatments in detail
  • Teaching patients and families about conditions, meds, and self-care to support recovery and prevention
  • Assisting with mobility, positioning, pain management, and other comfort measures
  • Responding promptly to emergencies and providing BLS as required
  • Following strict infection control practices and proper use/disposal of PPE, medications, and supplies
  • Collaborating with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other team members to coordinate care
  • Occasionally supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure quality care
  • Advocating for patients’ rights and participating in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by management
