Rate: Local: $1,168 / 40 hours

Required credentials:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, basic procedures.
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately per protocols.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, medications, and condition changes.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Insert, monitor, and manage IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids as authorized.
  • Manage urinary catheters: insertion, routine care, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) for coordinated care.
  • Provide patient comfort and safety measures: positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide BLS per facility protocols.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and training.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
