Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon - Arizona (Phoenix, Goodyear, Tucson)

A physician-led organization in Arizona seeks a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide locum coverage at high-acuity, hospital-based trauma centers. The group emphasizes strong clinical infrastructure and collaborative teams so surgeons can concentrate on delivering excellent patient care. Opportunities are available in Phoenix, Goodyear, and Tucson.

Assignment highlights

• 24-hour shifts with blocked scheduling (typical 7-day stretches; flexible options available)
• Built-in recovery time between rotations
• Blend of OR time, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic
• Work alongside an additional Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon within a dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery model

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call coverage at a high-volume center
• Manage complex fracture care, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Coordinate care with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical cases, inpatient care, and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Prior experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Advanced expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
