Locum Tenens Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon (Fellowship-Trained) - Tucson, AZ

Physician-led organization seeks a Locum fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to cover a high-acuity trauma center in Tucson, AZ. Work in a collaborative, hospital-based environment with strong clinical infrastructure and an experienced orthopedic trauma team.

Assignment

• 24-hour shifts, ~183 shifts/year (flexible scheduling available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery between rotations
• Mixed responsibilities: OR, inpatient care, and follow-up clinic
• Shared coverage model with an additional Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon and acute care surgery support

Clinical responsibilities

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Trauma call coverage at a high-volume trauma center
• Management of complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Coordination with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical cases, inpatient management, and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
